Madagascar The Madagascar Kestrel is endemic to Madagascar and the nearby Aldabra Island. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in open country mainly up to 1,800 metres. |

Apart from insects caught by hawking, prey is caught on the ground and consists of beetles, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and the occasional bird. Photos 1 to 3 show pale morph birds while photo 4 is of a rufous morph. |
