The Somali Crow is distributed in the Horn of Africa where it is found in dry savanna and semi-desert up to about 2,500 metres. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

It is similar but smaller than Brown-necked Raven C. ruficollis. The head and neck are dark, glossy brown.
