The Pink-eared Duck is endemic to mainland Australia where it is found mainly in temporary ponds and lakes in inland Australia but also in coastal mangroves and wetlands during dry spells.
|Apart from the pink ear, which is not always visible, it has a massive, grey, square-tipped bill, a dark brown eye-patch and brownish barring on the flanks and underparts.|
