The Red-billed Parrot has a disjunct distribution in the highlands from northern Venezuela through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. See the distribution map at NatureServe. It is found in humid forest, cloudforest and secondary growth mainly between 500 and 1,500 metres.
