Ecuador and Peru

The Scrub Blackbird is distributed in western Ecuador and Peru. It is found in the drier areas of scrub, woodland, gardens and agricultural areas up to about 1,500 metres mainly.

It is glossy black and forages mainly on the ground while perching frequently on trees.

Joseph Ritter von Rawicz Warszewicz was a Polish-Lithuanian botanist and one of the greatest orchid collectors. He collected in Peru and Ecuador in the 1850s.
