|Seaside Cinclodes (Cinclodes nigrofumosus)
Chilean name: Churrete costero
The Seaside Cinclodes is distributed on the coast from Arica in northern Chile to Valdivia in central Chile. It is strictly marine and never found away from the coast where it forages singly or in pairs on invertebrates and small fish.
|It is the largest and darkest of Chilean Cinclodes with a faint supercilium which does not extend in front of the eye. The loud, trilling song is often accompanied by the flashing of the wing-stripe as seen in photos 1 and 2.|
