Tawny Piculet Picumnus limae fulvescens

Brazilian name:

For some time this sub-species was classified as a species, Tawny Piculet Picumnus fulvescens. It is now considered by Clements and eBird to be a subspecies of Ochraceous Piculet P. l. fulvescens since the variation in the tone of the underparts appears to be clinal. Indeed some authorities believe that there is no good reason to include fulvescens as a sub-species.
