In eclipse plumage, although the general appearance approaches that of a female, the bill is yellow rather than orange with black and
the breast is reddy-brown rather than buff.
It is a very widespread dabbling duck and the origin o almost all the domestic ducks that we see. See the distribution map at xeno-canto. |
