The Pallid Swift breeds in the countries around the Mediterranean and in the Middle East and migrates to south of the Sahara in Africa during the northern winter. See the distribution map at xeno-canto.

Pallid Swift, Andalusia, Spain, May 2022 - click for larger image They are very similar to the Common Swift Apus apus but with a plumper body and broader wings. The forehead and throat tend to be paler and the dark eyepatch can be distinct. Underparts are more scaly.
